No pictures, no funny asides, no sloganeering...today is simply one of the greatest days in the history of our nation. Not because a black man was elected president -- but because a man who, 45 years ago, would not even be able to drink out of the same water fountain as I, or go to the same universities as I, or even be able to shop in the same stores as I, can now lead our entire nation.
Enjoy today. The work begins tomorrow, and it will be difficult. We've dug so many deep holes for ourselves around the world, and our fate won't be turned on a dime. But it can now happen.
